3rdway progressive Leadership Council's ( 3wplcSLK) of Sri Lanka

We are a consortium of elected officials and politically and vocalically active citizens working together to develop new and effective policy solutions for our country's most important challenges, at every level of government. These ideas are grounded in the great progressive political tradition that has given Sri Lanka its best possible leaders and most enduring accomplishments.
Like lot of  our past and presents Leaders such as  Liberals, Republicans, Democrats Lefties, Centre  leaders & independents we believe that there are four overriding challenges facing Sri Lanka today:
ü    Continue to implement policies & procedures which will benefits that  Sri Lanka safe in the midst of a national and global war against terror;
ü    Building an opportunity society at a time of great economic insecurity;
ü    Providing a cultural atmosphere conducive to working families;
ü    Reforming a broken and corrupt political system.

In this election year, 3rdway progressives are facing a rare opportunity: the chance to build a governing majority that can last.
While much of the attention is understandably focused on the presidential race, there will also be vital elections at the General elections nationwide. It is in Government that progressives can deliver a legislative program that helps working families, promotes our national security, and builds a prosperous and healthy future for our children and grandchildren.
This process need to develop a version of the 3rdway progressive Leadership Council's 3wplc SL  forward vision (Edirie Dakme) Agenda.  We can devote to help 3rdway progressives to make the most of this opportunity.
The proposals that follow represent some of the most promising ideas for modern solutions grounded in the 3rdway progressive movement's commitment to opportunity, responsibility, security, and reform.

Please let’s discuss and inform me that if you would like the ideology develop here, in order for us to move away from personalise abuses and threats against each others believe and Pathums for Sri Lanka. Policies do not need to be colour coded political values as we all need to be part of Sri Lanka. I am sure none of you will go there are settle for ever. Therefore running political convictions from our email boxes need to be focus on a real vision and working to deliver a realistic model of good governance for New Sri Lanka. .

Things I thought that we should be considering
National Security:

We need to spell out clearly the convictions that underlie their vision of Sri Lankan leadership in the post Eelam War world. (Sri Lankan Civil War)  It's imperative that we recapture the muscular, progressive internationalism of our past leaders, intelligentsia and her citizens’, in order to assuage voters' doubts that national security is our movement’s first priority.  Not just something we talk about until we can change the subject.

For more on Security, please add more comments on policy areas:  so we can formulate valuable roadmap.
  • National Defense & Homeland Security
  • Foreign Policy
Economic Opportunity:
3rdway progressives have to write a new economic story that makes upward mobility once again possible for hard-working Sri Lankans. In the past, if you wanted to get ahead you were a SLFPer or UNPer. If you wanted to join the ranks of a growing middle-class you were UNPer. But Sri Lankans will never know we're the opportunity party unless we offer a bold, clear vision of economic growth that will help them get ahead.

For more on Economic Opportunity, please add your ideals on to policy areas:  I think for the beginning we can look at
  • Economic & Fiscal Policy

  • Trade & Global Markets

  • Energy & Environment

  • Health Care

  • Technology & Innovation

  • The New Economy
Common Values:
As modernisers we have   long sought to find common ground by promoting big ideas rooted in the values that most Sri Lankans share. Winning the cultural debate doesn't require compromising our values but it does require offering a positive agenda of our own that strengthens families, empowers parents, couples rights with responsibilities, and asks for everyone to give back to their country.

For more on Values, please do add on to  these policy heads areas:
  • Work, Family & Community

  • National Service & Civic Enterprise

  • Quality of Life

  • Crime & Public Safety
Reform:
We have  always spoken to Sri Lanka most eloquently when, as reformers, we confront the status quo with a positive agenda for change. We need to reclaim the mantle of reform and innovation.
For more on Reform, please add on to  these policy areas:
  • Political Reform

  • Education

The Sri Lankan people deserve a political party or Political movements that are champions the values, interests, and safety of the broader citizenship and all who aspire to join it. We can build a lasting legacy, but only if we do the hard work to earn our peoples’ that is our voters' trust.
